Statement of Solidarity with Palestine

October 20, 2023

Today we join hundreds of artists, academics, and cultural workers, in pledging our support for the Palestinian people in the face of over 75 years of Israeli apartheid, settler colonialism, military occupation, and ethnic cleansing. We call for an immediate end to the Israeli shelling of Gaza, an end to Israeli raids, arrests, and hostilities in the West Bank, and an end to the arrest and harassment of Palestinian citizens of Israel. Mohawk Warrior, Activist, Community Leader, and singer-songwriter Logan Staats headlines November 3 concert fundraiser to Stop Ford’s Kemptville Prison

Presented by the Coalition Against the Proposed Prison (CAPP), with co-presentation support from Debaser, the concert will raise funds to support the legal challenge waged by local residents against the Ford government’s plan to build the 235-bed prison in Kemptville, which will expand the number of prison cells on Algonquin Anishinaabe Territory, further investing provincial funds into a costly and ineffective approach to enhancing community well-being and safety.
